  • Project Overview.

With millions of people forced to stay at home during the pandemic lockdown, many turned to DIY and garden renovation to fill their time.

Unable to visit their local retailer, these consumers turned to the web in order to purchase the products they needed.

The existing Springbridge website wasn’t suitable or optimised for the increased traffic so a swift re-design was required to be more user-friendly and to tackle the increase of business.

01. Sitemap

After initial discussions, I created a sitemap based on the existing webpage and made suggestions on where products should now be categorised. I also introduced an FAQ area as customer orders were increasing via web, they needed an area to help customer support.

02. Wireframes

Following on from the sitemap, a set of wireframes were created to ensure the correct hierarchy and categorisation of products. I included a new filter system where the customer can view all bulk bags and filter based on their preference. As the website was to be optimised for mobile devices, a set of wireframes for desktop and mobile were created.

03. User Flows

Alongside the wireframes, an example User Flow was created to outline to the client just how streamlined the purchasing process was now. This was plotted out in both Desktop and Mobile to show how it works across devices.

04. Finished product

With the UX of the site complete, the next step was visualising the UI, these were finalised and passed on to the developers.

After the refresh and with easier usability, sales with Springbridge began to increase, notably from mobile devices. The new website is a clean, modern and user friendly website that allows users to make purchases easily on all devices.

Here are some screens from the final product.
