The smart way to Shop & Sell mobile phones and devices.
-
Project Overview.
After the decision to move into the B2C market, Bamboo Mobile required a brand new consumer facing website that enables users to shop for a new device and also sell their existing device.
The website also includes a complex Customer Portal that allows Bamboo to update the customer every step of the way through their sale or purchase.

01. Sitemap
First step was plotting out the structure of the site and how the two different sections (shop/sell) would appear alongside each other under the main site.
I split the site into three sections:
Main section
Shop section
Sell section
This enabled me and the Bamboo team to treat them as ‘mini-sites’ and treat them separately even though they would fall under the one website.
I then assigned a colour to each section of the site and that would be the prominent colour to assist the user in their navigation of the site – Shop = blue / Sell = orange
02. Wireframes
Next up was wireframes and plotting out the hierarchy of content.
After splitting the sections into different colours I created a set of coloured low-fidelity wireframes to see how the sub-sections of the site would work and how the user can navigate through at a glance.
03. User Flows
From the wireframes I created two separate user flows:
User visiting the site to purchase a device
User visiting the site to sell their mobile phone
This helped Bamboo determine any holes or missing touch-points within the wireframes that may need addressing before moving onto screen visuals.
04. Finished product
With the site structure complete, the next step was visualising the UI of the site, these were finalised with prototyping of specific interactions and finally passed on to the developers.
Here are some screens from the final product.
